Ailey II continues the legacy of founder Alvin Ailey, delivering pristine performance with dynamic movement and dazzling technique. As a kickoff to Homecoming Week, Spotlight Programs Board and The Office of Civic Engagement are excited to incorporate the first Homecoming Day of Service! These departments will work to bring Georgia State and its surrounding community together by providing students, staff, faculty and alumni an opportunity to give back. There will be multiple service locations, but the primary site will be the Student Center East Ballroom. Whether coming with an organization or individually, all are welcome! Modeled after the iconic television series, America’s Got Talent, Spotlight Programs will set in motion a talent competition that will allow students to showcase their talents and gifts through a unique, enjoyable, and inspiring process! All Georgia State students can attend for free with Panther ID and can bring one guest! Panther ID's are required at the door.

Come out and join Spotlight Programs Board and Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms for the 16th Annual Homecoming Golf Cart Parade to kick off the Homecoming Football Game! The parade will begin on Georgia State’s campus and end at the Georgia State University Stadium where you, friends, and family can tailgate before kickoff. Keisha Lance Bottoms is the 60th Mayor of Atlanta and a graduate of the College of Law.

Mayor Bottoms’ notable accomplishments to date include the establishment of the City’s first fully-staffed Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the appointments of a LGBTQ Affairs Coordinator and a Human Trafficking Fellow, the citywide elimination of cash bail bond, the closure of the Atlanta City Detention Center to ICE detainees, the rollout of the most far-reaching financial transparency platform in the city’s history – Atlanta’s Open Checkbook, and the release of an Atlanta City services mobile app – ATL 311 that will serve as the lead communications tool for an upcoming infrastructure improvement initiative that will be announced in fall 2018.
