It’s that time of the year again. Do you think you have what it takes to lead the largest student-run organization on campus? Spotlight Programs Board is now accepting applications for all committee chairs and executive leader positions for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Spotlight, a university-sponsored, student-driven organization in the Student Center, is the premiere event planning entity that serves the university. Spotlight addresses the needs and interests of Georgia State’s diverse student body by providing social, cultural, educational and entertainment events to enhance the quality of student life. Students help plan events that are free and open to the Georgia State community and include concerts, movies, speakers and exposure to local Atlanta attractions.

Spotlight Programs Board is composed of nine committees and oversees the student-run Cinefest Film Theater. The board is composed of the executive director, associate director and the chairs of seven of these committees and works to fulfill Spotlight’s mission. Seven of the nine committees are responsible for planning and executing quality programs. The Membership Committee and Marketing Committee function primarily as support for the entire board.

Executive board members work with committee members and advisors to choose events to plan and implement throughout the year. Job duties include, but are not limited to, negotiations with agents, venue reservations, coordination of event logistics and the development of program budgets. These duties, along with others, are essential to the execution of Spotlight’s events.

Current positions available are:
Executive Director
Associate Director
Arts & Culture Chair
Daytime Chair
Films & Gaming Chair
