Homecoming events for students at the Atlanta campus will be coordinated by the Spotlight Programs Board while events for students at all five Perimeter campuses will be coordinated by each campus’s Panther Activities Council.

Homecoming week at the Atlanta campus will feature a carnival themed block party from 7 – 10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18 at Unity Plaza.

We’ll have candy apples, popcorn, magicians, and tarot card readers. We’ll have the band and the Pantherettes and cheerleaders come out.

The Decatur campus will hold a Wear Blue, Get Fed event on Wednesday, October 19 from 12 – 3 p.m. in the Student Success Center. Students are encouraged to wear blue in exchange for free food. They will also be able to create and decorate a mask for the royal ball.

Students at the Dunwoody campus will celebrate homecoming at their Fall Fun Day on Wednesday, October 19 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Dunwoody quad. The event will offer free rides and games, food and music. The event will also have The Vault, a cash cube game where students will get the opportunity to win prizes.

To unleash their Panther pride, Newton campus students will participate in a Fall Fun Day that will be full of exciting activities. At the event, which will take place on Monday, October 17 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Newton campus green area, students will enjoy bubble soccer, outdoor painting, food and music. Paramount Pictures will be handing out free movie passes to the new Jack Reacher film featuring Tom Cruise.

In addition to the block party and other events throughout the week, the university will be hosting the Laugh Your Paws Off Comedy Show with guest appearances by comedian and artist, Nick Cannon, and the cast of the popular comedy show, “Wild ‘N Out” at 7 p.m. in the Sports Arena on the Atlanta campus. Tickets are $10 for Atlanta students, $15 for Perimeter students and $20 for guests. Limit one guest per student. Individuals can purchase tickets at Event Tickets.

Students across all campuses will unite at America’s Mart Building 2 for the Homecoming Royal Ball on Friday, October 21 from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. Tickets for this event are $10 for all Georgia State University students and $15 for guests. Limit one guest per student.

Homecoming activities will culminate at the university’s football game against UT Martin on Saturday, October 22 at 3:30 p.m. at the Georgia Dome. The Royal Court crowning will take place during the halftime show.

Spotlight Programs Board offers Tailgate Starter Packs. The packs include a grill, charcoal, lighter fluid, utensils, a tent and more. They are in limited supply and on a first come, first served basis. Applications are open at OrgSync.

Overall, students and faculty are looking forward to celebrating the first university-wide homecoming.

Our goal is to go big. We’re one institution and we need to make sure that our individual campus events are just as interesting as downtown.
